Ever driven by a free parking space because it just looked too tight? Do the words ‘parallel parking’ fill you with a touch of dread? If so, you’ll probably be suitably surprise to learn that there’s a category in the Guinness World Records dedicated to the tightest parallel parking!
Earlier this year, Ronny Wechselberger a.k.a “Ronny C-Rock” was awarded a Guinness World Record medal for achieving the tightest parallel parking recorded. He somehow managed to slide his VW Polo into a parallel parking spot just 26 cm (10.24 in) longer than his vehicle. This footage from the set of the Guinness World Records show in Germany shows how he did it (don’t try this at home):

Unfortunately for “Ronny C-Rock” – we’ll save the discussion about his creative name for another day – his record has since been broken on the set of the Guinness Book of Record’s Chinese show, when Zhang Hua squeezed a car into a space just 24cm longer than his car.
